References and source standards

The ideas should have a source trail.

Popular culture can start the conversation. Leadership claims should still distinguish official series information, editorial interpretation, research, and lived experience.

Series reference

Start with the official source.

When the project needs basic production, creator, season, or rights-context information about Ted Lasso, official Apple TV materials are the preferred starting point rather than fan wikis or unattributed summaries.

Official series source

Apple TV Press: Ted Lasso

Apple's current press materials identify the series, principal executive producers and developers, and the production associations with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. View official Apple TV press reference.

Editorial source principles

Separate the layers.

The credibility of the project will depend less on how many citations an essay contains than on whether it tells readers what kind of claim they are looking at.

FACT

Document what can be documented

Production details, published research, dates, quotations, and external claims should point back to reliable sources whenever practical.

READING

Label interpretation as interpretation

Calling a scene an example of psychological safety, ego defense, servant leadership, or accountability is an analytical reading, not an official statement from the writers.

EXPERIENCE

Let lived experience be what it is

A contributor can be a primary source for their own experience. Personal experience should not be disguised as universal proof.

Copyright and quotation standard

Commentary should do the work.

The site should not reproduce scripts, long dialogue passages, episode transcripts, show artwork, promotional photography, video, music, or other protected material simply because it is easy to copy. The default editorial move is to describe the relevant moment in original language, identify the character or episode when useful, and then analyze the leadership question.

Brief quotations can sometimes sharpen analysis, but quotation should support commentary rather than replace it. Longer copyrighted material should be summarized and readers should be directed to an authorized source when appropriate.
